Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit Review

Do you love pulling the covers up over your shoulders and snuggling into the bed? I know I do!

Now that you have that feeling in mind, imagine you are a baby who has just been taken from your warm snuggly womb. A swaddle blanket is the perfect solution to this! Swaddles keep babies snug and limit the Moro reflex, or startle reflex. According to the AAP babies should stop being swaddled when they start attempting to roll over.

We began to see Penny start trying to roll over in her sleep around 3 months and that is when we attempted to transition her to a sleep sack. Sleep sacks are a wearable blanket and a great alternative to loose blankets as blankets are a suffocation risk. Click here to see a full list of ways to keep baby's room and bed safe for sleep.

We found that the transition from swaddle to sleep sack was too big for Sweet Penny.

Our solution was the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit

The sleepsuit is a safe alternative for babies who still need their Moro reflex muffled, but begin to show signs of rolling while swaddled. The sleepsuit is a padded suit with arms and legs so babies have more freedom to move around, but are still held snuggly.

Penny used the sleepsuit from three to six months and she loved it! The first nap she took in it was one of the longest she had taken up to that point in her life. If I remember correctly (which I probably don't - hello mom fog), she slept really well the first night she was in it, too.

Thanks to the sleepsuit the transition to her own room/big crib at four months was a breeze.

We have taken the sleepsuit to both sets of grandparents' houses and on an overnight trip where she was not in her normal sleep environment and I owe her sleep to the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit.

Currently if you purchase two or more from their website you will receive 15% off! We ended up buying two suits and this worked out well for us to have a back up in case of blowouts in the night and so that she would not have to be without it while it was being washed.

The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit is definitely my most recommended baby products and I encourage everyone to give it a try if their baby can no longer be swaddled but is not ready to be completely loose in the bed.

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit or if there is a different sleep product that other parents might like to try out!
